Valve: Steam still possible on 360

Plus, Steam on PS3 still not at full potential.
According to Valve, owners of the Steam digital distribution/social portal, the ball is in Microsoft’s court when it comes to the service appearing on Xbox 360.
Chet Faliszek, the high-profile writer at Vavle’s Washington Studio who has worked on Half-Life, Portal and Left 4 Dead, told Develop:
“Maybe, we’ll see. That’s something Microsoft will have to decide. There’s some things going on with Portal 2 right now, but we’ll see”.
Faliszek’s words make it clear that Valve’s deal with Sony that has seen Steam launch on the PS3 earlier this year is not bound by an exclusivity agreement. Faliszek mentioning of Portal 2 is in reference to a free update being rolled out across all platforms.
Part of the problem may be down to Microsoft’s continued reluctance to allow games to be regularly update free-of-charge, a stance that stands in stark contrast to the way Steam is run (just look at the number of updates Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead have had, for example).
However, Faliszek went on to say that Steam on PS3 is still not where Valve would like it to be. When asked whether or not Steam on PS3 can be updated in the way Team Fortress 2 and Left 4 Dead have been on PC, Faliszek said:
“Somewhat. There’s some big changes that still need to go through, so we’ll have to see, we’re open to that and it’d be cool idea but we’re just going to have to wait.”
