BioWare warn of hacking breach

BioWare is the latest games company to warn users of a recent hacking breach, relating to an old Neverwinter Nights forum server.
The developer states that it learned of this breach on 14 June and “immediately took appropriate steps to protect our consumers’ data.” No credit card data is thought to have been compromised, but whoever was behind the hacking did potentially have access to 18,000 “user account names and passwords, email addresses, and birth dates.”
As a result, those affected have had their EA accounts disabled or passwords reset as a security measure. If you were on of those people, BioWare should have sent you an email letting you know.
If you didn’t get that email and your EA account password still functions, you’re apparently safe. Naturally, if you were using your old Neverwinter Nights forum password all over the internet, now would be a good time to change that habit.
