The Daily Mail claim ‘fury’ over MW3 trailer

Newspaper reports that London 7/7 bombing campaigners are fighting to have the game banned.
The Daily Mail, that bastion of quality, well-researched, insightful journalism is reporting ‘fury’ from 7/7 bombing campaigners over the content of the recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 trailer (below).
“An ultra-violent computer game which features explosions and scenes of destruction on the London Tube and at the Houses of Parliament is to be released later this year,” are the words the publicatin uses to describe the Activision published title.
Not content with its attempts to ramp up the blind hate against the game in words alone, the article positions real-life images of the London bombings with screenshots taken from the trailer. Needless to say, the similiarities are difficult to highlight.
The trailer itself does depict a terroritst attack in London involving a police shootout outside the Houses of Parliament and 4×4 trying to keep up with a speeding underground train (an image that The Daily Mail describes as ‘chilling’).
Similiar images of conflict are depicted as taking part in Berlin, Paris and New York.
“I have concerns as these games are hyper-real and take place in a landscape we are familiar with,” The Daily Mail reports a spokesperson for campaign group Mediawatch stating. “In light of the fact we have just had the 7/7 inquests, it is in incredibly poor taste.”
