Combat design in Mass Effect 3

BioWare has released a new Mass Effect 3 video, via their somwhat incestuous BioWare TV (how does BioWare TV get all of these scoops about BioWare games? It is quite the mystery), all about the subject of combat. That might seem odd for an RPG title, but the series has been taking an increasingly combatward direction, so it makes sense to polish it up as much as possible.
Apparently that means giving players more close combat options (which differ, depending on class). The engineer, for example, now has a delightful backhanded slap, complete with flame effects. It all looks tremendously distainful to whoever you happen to be facing off against. Skills like turret hacking and shield-nabbing will also be available to you.
If you can stand the confusing and uncomfortable sight of BioWare’s head of marketing trying to be an objective presenter and trying to sell you things at the same time, then do watch, below.
