TRION reveals free RIFT character transfers

This afternoon TRION has finally revealed their plans for a character transfer service, a feature the community has been requesting for a few weeks.
Unlike most MMO character transfer services, TRION are going to offer an unlimited transfer service free. RIFT Players will be able to move to select servers in their territories once each week and characters will take all items, achievements, and titles with them.
Just as importantly, and we like this feature, guild leaders will be able to move their guild’s levels and experience with them to a new server.
There is no release date as yet but TRION say that the service will launch with the v1.3 patch which is due early this summer. TRION’s Scott Hartsman added:
“MMOs are all about playing with your friends no matter which server they’re on, and that’s why we’re offering this as a free service to our subscribers. RIFT is both a game and a service, and adding free server transfers is just one more way we can make this the best possible MMO experience available.”
Nice to see an MMO developer acknowledge that and MMO is not only a game but a service and TRION have certainly been working hard at making sure the service side of the operation plays just as an important part as the game itself.
