TRION Delays Phase 2 of RIFT River of Souls World Event

TRION has decided to push back the second phase of the River of Souls World Event by a week.
It’s been a bit of a challenging day for developer TRION who were set to launch Phase 2 of their first ever world event on Saturday, however it hasn’t quite gone to plan. Yesterday they disabled one of the phase one quests called Death Denied due to an exploit and earlier today someone decided to take advantage of an exploit on their chat system spamming the channels with adverts for a website. This did not go down well with TRION or players on the shards.
Earlier on Saturday TRION attempted to get Phase 2 of the world underway on the EU servers but due to server technical difficulties TRION decided to delay the North American launch of Phase 2. Throughout the day TRION kept the community updated with progress but this evening they made the executive decision to delay Phase 2 for a week while they resolve any issues.
With the opening of the final phases of the River of Souls World Event in Europe we have identified several issues that only came to light in a live server environment. Due to this we have had to temporarily disable the World Event in Europe and are delaying the opening of the event on North American shards until a full investigation and corrections can be made.
We want to thank everyone for coming out today and taking part in the most massive event RIFT has ever seen. Our first run this morning on the European servers was a true test of the platform we have built and a learning experience for us all. With the hold on the final phases in the River of Souls event we have decided to extend Phase 1 an additional week.
To compensate players, TRION are going to be adding extra event rewards from the world event merchants and they are also increasing the Otherworldy Sourcestones which can be gained from Death rifts which are used as currency at the merchants.
