New Publisher Hopes To Release ‘Original Boxed Games’ On PS3 And Xbox…

Fledgling ‘digital’ publisher The Games Consortium has told IncGamers it could rival the EA’s of this world, revealing it may yet release console boxed games.
The firm launched to help give young developers the support to release their titles via mobile phone, PSN, Xbox Live and Steam.
Speaking to IncGamers, boss Andy Payne said: “In the future, if we can gain access to the right financial models, we would not rule out development for Xbox 360 and PS3, but initially will concentrate on digital formats, whether that be iOS, Android, PSN, XBLA, and PC.
“There is absolutely no reason why we will not go into the packaged goods market. But the demand from consumers must be there and the IP must be strong enough to stand up in a very competitive space. Marketing will also be crucial, so careful planning and a tight ROI will always be needed. But we have those skills and that experience, so don’t rule it out!”
