What started life as a mod has become a full official expansion as the Age of Empires II HD – The Forgotten arrives on Steam.

This expansion has been created by Vancouver based studio SkyBox Lab and Forgotten Empires bringing a whole host of new content and features to the rather old strategy title. The Age of Empires II HD expansion can be picked up for £6.99 and adds four new campaigns and five new civilizations which include the Italians, Indians, Slvs, Incas and Magyars.

For anyone who likes to stream their games, Twitch integration has also been added along with Steam Workshop support,  expansion rankings and steam trading cards.

It’s not a bad bunch of features considering the price, but you have to at least still be playing or at leasr have an interest in Age of Empires II to enjoy this update. It’s been a decade since any new “official” content was added to Age of Empires so perhaps you’ve forgotten that it existed and now would be a good time to jump back in.
