Originally due sometime in late 2012, Aliens: Colonial Marines has joined the growing list of titles (Tomb Raider, BioShock Infinite) shunted into early 2013 instead. The precise new release date is 12 February 2013. It will definitely be released for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on that day. Unless it isn’t.
In case you feel the game has been in development just a little bit too long at this point, Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford has some information for you: “The total development time we have spent creating Aliens: Colonial Marines is about the same length of time as we had spent creating the original Borderlands or the original Brothers in Arms”.
According to Pitchford, it’s just a symptom of Aliens: Colonial Marines being announced much earlier in its development cycle than those other games.
