Amplitude Reboot Kickstarted for PlayStation 4, PS3

Harmonix has announced a new Kickstarter campaign for a new version of Amplitude for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. Harmonix the developers of Rock Band is asking for $775,000 to create the game which is a successor to the classic PlayStation 2 music game. The Kickstarter campaign will launch in June 2015. The team, which includes many original Amplitude developers at Harmonix, will use the studio’s proprietary engine.

“We’re aiming to deliver an updated soundtrack, incredible visuals, and fine-tuned controls,” the developer explains on its Kickstarter page. Additionally, Amplitude will run in 60 frames per-second “to make all musical timing feel snappy.” Said The developers. Ryan Lesser told IGN that PlayStation exclusivity is a result of Harmonix wanting to make a pure Amplitude game, rather than a spiritual successor on multiple platforms.  Source IGN
