Bohemia Interactive have announced that the second episode of Arma 3‘s campaign will be released on 21 January 2014.

The first episode (titled “Survive”) launched back at the end of October, and placed you in the head of NATO peacekeeper Ben Kerry as he struggled to escape a sudden conflict erupting on the island of Stratis. The second episode (titled “Adapt”) apparently focuses more on open scenarios and guerrilla warfare, which should offer a rather interesting experience.

However! If you can’t wait that long for new stuff, then you don’t have to. 11 December will see us getting an early Christmas present when the episode’s new sandbox content gets added to Arma 3, letting you play around with three new vehicles for the Altis Armed Forces faction – the Wy-55 Hellcat helicopter, the FV-720 Mora IFV, and the MBT-52 tank. That’s not all, mind; there’ll also be stuff like black versions of the MX rifles, infra-red grenades, and the LRPS sniper scope.

All of this is completely free to anyone who already owns Arma 3. A squad of new screenshots, showing off the three new vehicles, follows.
