Atari has revealed Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime, a semi-sequel to 2009’s Ghostbusters title.
USA Today reports that the game will be a top-down co-op experience for up to four players (either locally or online) and marks a return for the ‘rookie’ character introduced by the previous title. Sadly, none of the actors from the Ghostbusters films will be appearing in this jaunt.
“Gigantic bosses” are being teased, which should require a spot of good old fashioned co-operative teamwork to defeat. Naturally, players will have access to the full range of Ghostbusters-related gadgetry, like proton packs and plasma inductors.
Developed by Wanako Games (a Chilean studio owned by newly-renamed Behaviour,) Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime is set for downloadable release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. There’s no mention this time of a Wii version. The tentative release window is spring 2011.
