Battlefield 4 is real and probably planned for next-gen

EA has confirmed that Battlefield 4 is real and that you can indeed gain access to a beta for the game by pre-ordering Medal of Honor: Warfighter.

The confirmation follows an accidentally leaked advert that appeared on the publisher’s digital distribution website, Origin, yesterday. It seems that EA wasn’t quite ready to announce the game and the advert was swiftly taken down, although not before we could report on it.

EA has said that the beta for Battlefield 4 will take place during fall of 2013, and that “additional details regarding Battlefield 4 will be revealed at a later date.”

So… and this is just the prediction of a single guy, it seems as though Battlefield 4 could well be in development for next-gen system. The “fall 2013” beta date would suggest that the game will ship at the end of next year, the same time most people expect to see the next line-up of consoles released.
