Battlefield Hardline’s launch trailer is predictably explosive

Battlefield Hardline has a launch trailer, and it’s pretty much exactly what you’d expect.

Explosions? Check. Gunfire? Check. Cars driving far too quickly? Check. Thumping soundtrack? Check. “Badass” dialogue? Check. Release date? Check.

Still, while it’s a cookie-cutter trailer, it’s not actually a bad one. It’s reasonably entertaining, shows Battlefield Hardline in a decent light, and I’m happy to admit that I’m a sucker for cheesy, over-the-top dialogue. I have no idea how well this actually represents the game because I haven’t played it since the first beta, but hey, well done on the trailer. It’s okay!

To be perfectly frank, though, I’m mostly looking forward to the single-player campaign. That is probably incredibly stupid of me because this doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere near Bad Company 2‘s levels of tongue-in-cheek silliness, but… the premise! It’s perfect for an over-the-top, ridiculous campaign! Yeah, I know. I’m hoping for too much. Oh well. At least it’s not Present Day Soldier Man 17.

You can have a look at the trailer below, anyway. Battlefield Hardline itself is due out on 17 March in the US, and 20 March in the UK.
