Blizzard perked up last week with lengthy development updates from Travis Day, and today they released their “Items Blog” for Diablo 3.
The update outlines planned changes to the item system with topics such as “Farm monsters, not the auction house” where they think the game is not better off with the AH system, “Less is more” on rare drops, and more. They do state that the points highlighted are just a snapshot of what’s being worked on but it’s good to see them finally getting to the items issue. It could still be some way off though, most of these discussed changes are still in the planning stages.
Not everything outlined in the initial items blog will make it into the v1.08 patch which was confirmed in a series of follow-up posts. These are worth a read if you want to see what’s coming, but it doesn’t look like any massive changes are due in v1.08 apart from monster density. What has been confirmed to be added in v1.08 is a new multi-craft option, monster density adjustments, and AH comparison tooltips.
Thanks Diablo: IncGamers.
