If you’re still playing Borderlands 2 then you’re probably eagerly awaiting the raise of the level cap. Bully for you: it’s happening next week.

According to Digital Trends, Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Digistruct Peak Challenge (and breathe) will be out on 3 September. This pack raises the level cap to 72, as well as adding an Overpower level system and the Digistruct Peak area to battle through.

While the cap will now be set to level 72, the Overpower system lets you go beyond that, acquiring gear and battling monsters up to level 80. You won’t be able to use extra skill points from 72 onwards, though, with Gearbox’s Jason Reiss explaining that they wanted to keep a bit of diversity between class builds. “If you look at our skill tree, you’ll definitely notice that we’re running out of skill points,” he said. “We’re trying to keep the diversity there.”

Playing through Digistruct Peak in Overpower mode will result in random elements being thrown into the encounters. While learning Digistruct Peak will apparently be fairly important up to level 72, everything’s going to go a bit bonkers after that.

Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2: Digistruct Peak Challenge will be out next week. Let’s hope that I won’t have to type out that name again after that. Also: if you don’t already have Borderlands 2, the Game of the Year Edition will be out on 11 October. It will not, however, contain this pack or any of the forthcoming DLC.
