All the world’s a stage and we are merely games players. Sega has announced that Company of Heroes 2 will be tapping in to this theatrical tradition with a ‘Theatre of War’ mode. At launch, this will include nine “unique” missions for each faction (German and Russian,) based on key battles from the 1941 Eastern Front campaign.
“We get a lot of requests from fans to showcase specific conflicts from the war and it isn’t always possible to fit these into the campaign. Theatre of War gives us [that] opportunity,” says producer Greg Wilson.
Missions in Theatre of War will either single player and co-op focused. More missions are due to be added to this mode after the game launches on 25 June, including the “mini pack” of levels promised to people who pre-ordered the game.
