CD Projekt Red launches Cyberpunk 2077 blog

Recommended Videos

CD Projekt Red has launched a new site and regular blog so people can keep up to date with the progress being made on forthcoming RPG title Cyberpunk 2077. It’s already achieved its aim in updating me, because I still thought the game was called Cyberpunk – but no!

On the page itself, you can read a brief introduction to the blog from the CD Projekt Red team, a hello from Mike Pondsmith, the excellent chap behind the pen and paper version of Cyberpunk, and an article about the difficulties with implementing a pen and paper system in a videogame (obviously they’ll need to overcome those problems).

” Rest assured that we are working very closely with Mike Pondsmith to ensure that the unique feel of the original, paper game is preserved intact,” that latter piece states.

The fact that Pondsmith seems happy to keep making nine hour flights to Poland to have face-to-face chats with CD Projekt Red certainly seems to support that claim.

He was also at the GoG.com press event today (where GoG announced its new support for Mac games), where it was confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be taking a sandbox direction. This wasn’t really elaborated on much further, but no doubt the new blog will share details when the team are good and ready.
