Logic Artists have announced Clandestine, a fantastic-looking asymmetrical co-op stealth game set in 1996.
Clandestine has one player take the role of a field agent and the other a hacker, with the pair infiltrating locations around the globe in order to work out who’s assassinating former Cold War agents. Details are thin on the ground, but it looks like the field agent player will be physically sneaking their way through the locations while the hacker uses cameras, maps, and electrical systems to give the field agent backup and information. Which… okay, yes, that sounds excellent. Even if this is set in 1996, so the hacker will presumably be using a 56k modem. Shudder.
“We wanted to create a new kind of play experience based on our love for tactical stealth games,” said Logic Artists producer Ali Emek. “With the addition of asymmetrical co-op gameplay between the field agent and hacker, Clandestine gives a unique spin to this genre. Set during the ‘90s, we have worked hard to recreate the feel and atmosphere of the decade in the game, and we are excited to see how players react to this iconic time in technological development.”
Logic Artists’ last game was the rather good Expeditions: Conquistador, a turn-based strategy/RPG title, so this is a bit of a departure. Nonetheless, I’d quite like it. Now, please.
