Cloud Chamber isn’t exactly an easy game to sum up, being a sort of story-focused MMO investigation/discussion title. Nonetheless, it looks extraordinarily interesting, which is perhaps why developer Investigate North took the time to make this video asking director Christian Fonnesbech why they’re telling this kind of story.

It’s a short video – only one minute long – but it raises a number of interesting points and shows off some of the FMV that will be one of the ways the game gets snippets of its story across. Fonnesbech is apparently as intrigued by the idea of using games (or, well, networked computers) as a storytelling device as I am, and it’s rather interesting to hear him give his reasons behind this.

Cloud Chamber has you investigating a murder while trying to uncover exactly what the Petersen Institute is hiding, by investigating data nodes – letters, video clips, photos – and discussing them with other players. It’s due out this summer, and it looks fascinating.
