According to a just-received fact sheet, Dark Souls 2 is set to prey on your phobias. “A wide range of threats will prey on human senses and phobias,” say From Software. “Auditory hallucinations, vertigo, acrophobia, etc.”

Sounds a bit Eternal Darkness, but you know what? I can deal with hallucinations, vertigo, and acrophobia. I have more of a problem with giant bloody spiders and oh look! What’s that in the concept art? It’s a zombie with what looks like a giant spider on its back, sticking a leg through the back of its head! Hooray!

On the plus side, the actual screenshots are pretty great. There’s a screenshot of a Mirror Knight (apparently a boss), some statue knights with horse heads, a spot of necromancy, and… well, it all looks a bit Dark Fairy Tale, if I’m honest. I’m impressed, I confess.

Check out the screens and concept art below. Also, prepare to die.
