As promised, Blizzard pump out the latest changes and launch the Diablo 3 2.12 PTR server.

On the back of all the BlizzCon reveals a couple of weeks ago, Blizzard is ready to test out the latest changes to Diablo 3 via the wonders of the test servers. This update comes with quite a few skill changes for all classes with the Demon Hunter and Wizard receiving most of the developers’ attention. There’s also some love for class specific items for the Demon Hunter, Monk, and Wizard.

This test patch also reveals the Season 2 Legendary items which includes new Legendary Gems and class specific items for anyone who’s interested in taking part in the next Season.

Tristram now also also has a new layout in Adventure Mode which Blizzard say is “improved” and the rainbow infested Whimsyshire is now also more rewarding.

Players may also remember there were a few cheesy quests that could be exploited during seasons for XP gain which were eventually disabled by Blizzard. These quests are now back in the game and have “received several changes” which includes their completion requirements.

Nephalim Rifts are also seeing a lot of attention with changes to everything from monster density, increase in gold and experience, Rift Guardian changes, and Pylon changes.

There’s quite a lot to digest if you’re a Diablo 3 player who’s been waiting patiently for this update and the full patch notes can be read here. If you want to see how skills have changed from the current live version compared to the 2,12 PTR update check this handy comparison list.
