This is the biggest patch for Diablo 3 for some time bring a host of new features including Kanai’s Cube which is Diablo 3’s Horadric Cube equivalent. Using this cube players can customise their character further without the need to equip the item to gain the item’s power.

There is a limitation to what can be equipped, players can only have one Weapon, one Armor, and one Jewellery power equipped at the same time. Legendary items can also be re-rolled, Rare items can be updated to Legendary, convert set items to randomised gear from the same set, level requirements on items can be removed, and finally the ability to convert crafting materials.

The cube can be picked up from Zooltan Kulle in New Tristram, the Hidden Camp, Bastion’s Keep Stronghold, or The Survivor’s Enclave in Adventure Mode.

This is only one of the features that has been added, there’s the new Torment VII-X difficulty levels, Season Journey to track personal progress and the new Ruins of Sescheron zone which reveals more backstory on the Barbarians of Mount Arreat.

The full patch notes can be checked out here and remember, some of this may change before 2.3.0 hits on the actual live servers.

The team over on Diabloii.Net have already been in experimenting with the new features so if you want to read some expert opinion on this update head to this post. The update gives initial impressions and a stack of shots to highlight the changes.
