DICE promises to continue supporting Battlefield 3 following Battlefield 4 announcement

Following EA’s official announcement on the existence of Battlefield 4 today, DICE has moved to reassure fans that they are dedicated to supporting players of Battlefield 3.

“There is no further Battlefield 4 news at this point,” states a DICE post on Battlefield 4. “With the Back to Karkand and Close Quarters expansion packs already out, Armored Kill around the corner, and End Game and Aftermath still on the horizon, we’re looking forward to many more hours of gameplay with you, and can’t wait to see the stories you will tell through Battlelog and player created videos.”

With the beta for Battlefield 4 not due until “fall 2013”, the accidental announcement of the game will have come as a body-blow to EA who must now keep interest for the shooter high through the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, their own Medal of Honor: Warfighter and, as DICE has said, the various DLC packs for Battlefield 3.
