Doom 3 BFG Edition arrives this autumn

Bethesda and id will be releasing the DOOM 3 BFG Edition this autumn for the 360, PS3 and PC, offering up “hours of new content” for Doom fans.
The game has been remastered for the 360 and PS3, comes with seven new levels called The Lost Mission, and includes the Ressurection of Evil addon-on pack.
Improvements include the game being optimised in 3D, 5.1 surround sound, 360 Achivements, PS3 Trophies, improved rendering and lighting, and a new checkpoint save system. The controls have also been refined for console gamers and the game also features a new armour-mounted flashlight to help you get through those dark corridors.
“DOOM 3 was enthusiastically embraced by gamers worldwide at its release,” said John Carmack, Technical Director at id Software. “Today, the full experience has been enhanced and extended to be better than ever, and is delivered across all the platforms with a silky smooth frame rate and highly responsive controls.  New support for 3D TVs, monitors, and head mounted displays also allows players to experience the game with more depth than ever before. We think shooter fans everywhere will love it.”
If that wasn’t enough, the new package also comes with the original DOOM and DOOM 2. Not bad if you are looking for the full DOOM experience.
