Dota 2’s 2015 Compendium hits $9 million

Dota 2‘s TI5 Compendium has surpassed the $9 million USD mark, meaning the Wyvern Hatchling courier is now unlocked.

“Unlocked” doesn’t actually mean “in the game”, though. At this point we’re still waiting on the Immortal II treasures to be added, which were unlocked back in the heady days of the Compendium raising $7 million USD, so let’s hope we get a nice big update with new hats and a new courier once the qualifiers are over.

I’d at least hope they’ll be added before the Immortal III treasure stretch goal is hit, which isn’t that far off: that one’s due at $10 million.

The prize pool for The International 2015 is sat on $9,057,271 at the time of writing. Last year’s tournament managed a prize pool of $10,930,698 USD; with the main tournament of The International 2015 not due to start until 3 August, I’d wager we’re going to see a rather larger prize pool this year.

If you want to watch some pro Dota 2 matches before August then bear in mind that the America and China qualifiers are on right now, with the Europe and Southeast Asia qualifiers due to start on 29 May – this Friday.
