Drink up: Drinkbox’s Guacamelee! Gold Edition coming to PC

Guacamelee

Imagine this but even more golden and beautiful and PC.

Drinkbox has announced that their luchador-themed ‘metroidvania’ title Guacamelee! will be getting a Gold Edition release on Steam next week. 8 August is the date, which is the same day Spelunky is returning to the PC in HD form. Double platform-based goodness on the same day.

According to IGN (and they should know, they’re mad keen on Mexican wrestling,) the game will cost $15.00 USD (£12.00 GBP) and come with a pair of DLCs; the costume pack and something called The Devil’s Playground. Wait, isn’t that last one a terrible Danny Dyer film? Can we wrestle Danny Dyer in this game? Amazing.

You’ll also get Steam trading cards, leaderboards, cloud saving and all that jazz. If you pre-order the game, Drinkbox will throw in their previous title Tales From Space: Mutant Blobs Attack.

This is all great news, obviously, but August is now looking seriously packed for PC gaming. Look at this craziness:

Dragon Commander – 6 August
Spelunky – 8 August
Guacamelee! – 8 August
DuckTales – 13 August
Europa Universalis IV – 13 August
PayDay 2 – 13 August
Space Hulk – 15 August
Disney Infinity – 18 August
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified – 20 August
Saints Row IV – 20 August
Splinter Cell Blacklist – 20 August
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Ultimate Edition – 27 August
Lost Planet 3 – 27 August
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn – 27 August

Looks like we’ll be doing some major review triage this month here at IncGamers.
