Epic wins court battle vs. Silicon Knights

Epic Games was won its lawsuit against Silicon Knight. That’s according to Epic Games’ VP Mark Rein, who claims that the jury has found in favour of Epic “on all counts” and is now owed by $4.5 million from Silicon Knights.
Originally, it had been Too Human developer Silicon Knights who had taken Epic to court over a lack of pre-agreed support for the use of Epic’s Unreal Engine 3. Silicon Knights claimed that the lack of support was one of the causes behind Too Human’s commercial and critical failings, and attempted to garner $58 million in damages.
The lawsuit, which had run for five years, now seems to be over.
Silicon Knights have been ordered to pay Epic Games $4.5 million as part of Epic’s countersuit regarding claims that Silicon Knights stole “trade secrets” relating to Unreal Engine 3. Silicon Knights will also have to pay court fees.
