As I’m apparently now IncGamers’ Horror Guy, it falls to me to tell you about The Evil Within. More specifically, I’m supposed to tell you that Bethesda and Tango Gameworks have released a new gameplay trailer for the game.

The Evil Within is Shinji Mikami’s (Resident Evil, God Hand, Vanquish, Resident Evil 4, Goof Troop) latest title, telling the tale of a detective who gets trapped in a nightmarish world full of monsters after arriving at the scene of a mass-murder. It looks like a cheery, light-hearted romp with absolutely nothing even remotely scary. Particularly not that thing at the end of this trailer, although after Outlast, I’m pretty sure I’ll just be happy to have a gun.

This trailer is in honour of the Tokyo Game Show, in case you were wondering.

The Evil Within is due out in 2014.
