Evony Announces Age II

The team behind the controversial MMO Evony has announced the first major expansion for the game: Age II.

The update will enhance player experience and offer a new depth of gameplay, says Evony LLC. Age II will include new quests that involve historical heroes, and will boast a new graphical interface that players will be able to access through Facebook. See the full list of new features below.

If all this sounds exciting to you, you’ll be glad to hear that there’s no waiting around, expect to see Age II rolling out sometime over the next couple of weeks.

“When developing Evony: Age II, we were inspired and motivated to take everything we learned from Evony: Age I and deliver the best player experience possible in a free-to-play game,” said Benjamin Gifford, vice development director at Evony, LLC. “With the rapid adoption and overwhelming global success of Evony: Age I, we knew expectations would be high for the next installment in the Evony saga. With the help of Regan Mercantile, LLC, we are now able to take the series in a wonderful direction with Evony: Age II.”

The free to play MMO which famously made its name by using pictures of scantily-clad women in its adverts has over 16 million players, according the the press release that accompanied the Age II announcement.

Evony: Age II Features:Facebook Connect Integration – Players can share the latest on their empires with friends on Facebook – they can give gifts, visit neighbors’ cities, post achievements (new to Age II), display quest completions and recent activity and form new tactics with post-battle reports.
Improved Graphics – New art and graphics introduce an easier-to-use interface, high-resolution buildings and detailed animations.
Upgraded Chat System – Regional Chat was created to help beginners see only the important messages in their area, substantially improving the nature of in-game chat for new players.
Historical Content – Recruit help from history’s most powerful figures and take control of some of the world’s most renowned ancient cities.
War Declarations – Manage all threats to your city and prepare for pending invasions with an all-new war declaration system. Be ready to defend at any hour of the day, armed with knowledge to protect your kingdom even when away from the computer.
Strategems – New combat modifiers to influence intelligence gathering and disguise plan of attacks.
Hero Control – Equip heroes with custom crafted equipment and new items to be the ultimate leader on the battlefield.
New Balanced Colonization System – New PvP colonization system enables powerful players to increase their empire, while allowing weaker players to protect their domains through an overhauled combat system. With more land to conquer than ever before, the battles will grow to epic proportions.
