If you’ve been following along with this story, you’ll know the site is likely all a big ARG (alternate reality game) teaser for Fallout 4 (or Fallout: Subtitle, whatever it ends up being called.) Of course if it ends up being a hoax or a teaser for a bloody iOS game, you have our sincere apologies. We’d be just as upset as you.
Anyway, today’s little update is a change to the Morse code message. The hard working and Morse-savvy chaps on the r/Fallout have translated this as follows:

Story updated based on slight alteration to Morse translation:
“Stage 7” probably refers to the International Nuclear Event Scale, under which 7 is classed as a “major accident.” A couple of interesting things to note here; Las Vegas is classified as ‘Unknown’ (due to the actions of Mr. House in Fallout: New Vegas.) Information about Boston, where this game is rumoured to be based, gets cut off before transmission.
In other Fallout events today, New Vegas received a small update on Steam. It was claimed yesterday that Fallout 3 received a similar update, but this hasn’t been verified and now appears to be false. The Fallout twitter feed states this was just to add support for cloud saves, but the timing is … quite a coincidence. Especially as neither game has received an update in several years. However, it does now appear as if the update really was just adding cloud saves. Nobody digging around the update files has been able to find much of anything else, so no hidden extra clues there.
So here’s the run-down of events so far:
- Back in August an anonymous tipster pops up saying the game will be set in Boston.
- The Survivor2299.com site appears on 14 November
- European tradmark discovered on 17 November
- 20 November – Morse code changes
- 22 November Nuclear Winter is coming message appears
- 22-24 November – New code with two dates and reference to the Quabbin Reservoir
- 25 November – New Morse code, Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas updated on Steam.
- 26 November – Another new Morse code.
