Fate of the World devs received death threat

Red Redemption, developers of the environmentally-themed strategy title Fate of the World, have revealed they received a death threat over the game’s contents.
In an interview with GamesIndustry, the studio’s CEO Klaude Thomas explains that in response to the game “We had one person saying that we should either be locked up or executed.”
More happily, he confirmed that the people who’ve been against the whole idea of a title that looks at global environmental issues were “really the minority.”

Thomas says that the majority of the game’s audience is “existing strategy or whatever gamers who have got some interest in the subject,” rather than a new environmentally-minded audience being drawn into videogames.
I’ve been struggling with famine, war and mass-extinction in Fate of the World myself, so look out for an IncGamers review of the game in the next few days.
