The makers of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn are cracking open the doors for a few fortunate souls once again this week. Between 10 July and 15 July, people accepted to the beta will be able to take part in the final part of ‘phase 3’. Servers will be up again at 10am (UK time) on Wednesday, and close at the same time on Monday.

Not to worry if you miss out, though. A ‘beta phase 4’ will be announced in the near future. You can be pretty sure it’ll take place between now and the game’s 27 August release date.

This third beta phase was said to introduce the ‘cross-platform’ aspects of the game, allowing PlayStation 3 people to mingle with PC users for the first time. It also includes access to the city states of Ul’dah and Limsa Lominsa. At least, that’s what Square said when announcing this latest set of beta testing back in May. Was it true? Only beta testers know for sure.
