Square has released some numbers for FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn which state that more than 1.5 million players have now registered for the rebooted MMO.

The numbers are compiled from North America, Europe, Japan and PAL regions and include both the PC and PS3 version. The update also informs us that the v1.2 patch will be released at some point in late December and includes new dungeons, PvP battle arena, player housing and no doubt updates and tweaks to the game.

Players are now also able to transfer characters via the World Transfer Service which launched this week and costs $18 to use the service.
