Free To Play Star Trek MMO Announced

German game publisher Gameforge has announced that is has teamed up with CBS Consumer Products to publish free to play games based on Star Trek.

Not to be confused with Cryptic Studios’ Star Trek Online, these new games will be browser-based, and are expected to launch from next year. The first titles to come out of the agreement will take place in the Star Trek Classic timeline, and Star Trek Deep Space Nine.

“Securing such a high-profile license is an important step for Gameforge,” said Christoph Jennen, CFO of Gameforge. “We are proud that the quality of our games and publishing services enabled us to acquire a license of this caliber. Our upcoming Star Trek browser games will further expand our consumer base and market share on an international scale.”
