As a Scotsman it’s fantastic to see the Game Expo Scotland event takinf shape before it gets underway between 4-5 October in Edinburgh at the International Conference Centre.

Today the new website launched with more details on what to expect including exhibitors and what gamers can expect to see at this year’s event.

The event is being divided into six distinct zones.

Welcome Zone showcases a range of retro and arcade games that defined the world of gaming.

The Indie Zone will play host to a diverse range of Scottish and worldwide independent developers, all showing off their latest and greatest innovative and heartfelt labours of love. It’s the perfect place for anyone looking to see what’s next in the world of indie gaming.

There will also be the eSports Zone for those of us who love a good fight. Open to the public, this manic zone will play host to fighting game tournaments with a soon to beconfirmed title leading the way.

Hollywood Zone is the place to be to see the biggest name titles coming out for 2015 from the biggest publishers around.

Speaker Sessions taking place inside the Indie Zone. Here you can expect to see a packed program with a whole Spectrum (pun, intended), of international developers, publishers, journalists and more providing plenty of Q&A sessions so gamers can speak to the guys right in the middle of the magic.

The Cosplay Zone will feature daily prizes to the best cosplayers. It’s the perfect chance for gamers to show off their best efforts from Hyrule, Spira, Tamriel and more.

“Having separate zones, each with a distinct flavour to them, really helps gamers get the most from Games Expo Scotland 2014,” said Magdala Media founder and GES 2014 creator Rowan Mackie. “Where else can gamers in Scotland come and get the best indie games alongside next year’s biggest releases? And each zone has something absolutely perfect for all types of gamers too.”
