‘Game Hubs’ coming in Steam Community overhaul

Valve apparently has some pretty big plans regarding the Steam Community, the full extent of which will be revealed across the next few days. Today, the company has announced that each game in Steam’s catalogue will be getting a ‘Game Hub’ in which the most popular screenshots, video and user mods will be giving pride of place through voted rankings.

Each hub will also have its own integrated forum in a ‘discussions’ tab, so you won’t have to pop out of Steam to complain about how the FOV is wrong in your newly purchased game.

“The New Steam Community is all about showing off the best content that gamers have created,” says Valve’s Emily Kent.

There’s a lot of it to show off. A counter on Valve’s sub-site for this announcement currently reads more than 89 million bits and pieces in total. More details about the Community overhaul will be released every day until 16 August.
