Grand Theft Auto 5 is nearly here, and today, Rockstar want to show you how to create your own videos.
Once the game launches, players will doubtless want to show off some of their stunts and action from the game. Fortunately, the PC version comes with the Rockstar Editor – a tool designed to make recording and editing footage a little easier, across both single-player and GTA Online.
Video can be captured live with the press of a button, but there’s also the ability to rewind back through the action and create your footage from that. The editor appears quite robust, with lots of features that should hopefully eliminate the need to use additional recording or editing software outside of the game.
For gamers who like to be creative there’s also the Director Mode, which lets budding video creators build custom scenes using the game assets, including the characters and audio. When complete, those creations can be shared on YouTube and the Rockstar Social Club.
It looks to be quite a neat package and there will doubtless be a lot of video shot and shared once the game goes live. Hopefully some decent stuff will show up, but be prepared to sift through the rubbish.
