Guild Wars 2 achieves 400,000 concurrent users during headstart

Error codes and all sorts of issues occurred over the weekend if you were trying to get into Guild Wars 2. While we didn’t experience any of these issues, many players did and still are. So why was it so hard to get playing?

According to ArenaNet, over 400,000 concurrent users were on the Guild Wars 2 servers over the weekend, and that was just the headstart. Mike O’Brien, president and co-founder of ArenaNet added:

“This is the culmination of a five-year journey and to be greeted by this level of enthusiasm by our fans is truly amazing. But really our work is just beginning. Now our focus is shifting to building on this living world we’ve delivered, continuously refining our game and improving services to ensure our players have the best possible experience”.

ArenaNet still have lot to do. The servers are still being hammered as more new players join the game today. In fact the game has been so well received, NCSoft are pausing all advertising  campaigns to steady the flow of new players purchasing the game.
