id Will Develop “Three New AAA Titiles”

Co-founder of id Software, John Carmack, has said that the company will “eventually be producing three AAA titles” .

The information comes from a keynote conference in Dallas, Texas, in which Carmack revealed a third internal team was being created to meet the goal.

The problem, it seems, doesn’t seem to be producing the titles, but rather choosing from a wealth of IPs.

“We still have this problem of having more good IPs than we can develop, even if we do staff up to three teams.”

No information slipped from Carmack as to what the IPs could be however, ” [i]s it going to be a Rage 2, a Wolfenstein title, a Quake title? We really don’t know yet.”

And Carmack has already outlined how he plans id to grow, with emphasis on the development of IPs and the role of the third studio when Zenimax acquired the company back in June.

Either way, with a selection of titles to look forward to, and the current grade of the company, I’m sure we won’t have anything to worry about.
