Before you get too excited, no, this forthcoming Borderlands 2 DLC does not let you play as an indestructible Gerry Anderson puppet man. Sorry. Instead, ‘Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty’ (previously revealed by some data-mining, but now official) will focus on a one-eyed pirate lady and a brand new area – the bandit town of Oasis.
“These bandits have really embraced the pirate lifestyle, and there’s the legend of a treasure. That kicks off this whole adventure that the players can go on,” says Gearbox’s Randy Pitchford, as he brandishes his cutlass.
You can expect to do battle with sand worms and ride on a ‘sand skiff’ vehicle. The DLC is due on 16 October, priced at $10 USD (or Microsoft fun-penny equivalent). Of course, if you bought the ‘season pass’ for the game, this is one of the included packages.
