Help, I’m stuck in a DOTA 2 story and don’t (really) know anything about the game. Oh, wait, it’s actually a ticket sales story. Phew, lucky escape. Yes; if you are interested in purchasing tickets to the fourth DOTA 2 International Championship, colloquially known as “The International,” then you need only wait until Friday, 4 April.

Valve says tickets for the event, which this year will be held in the KeyArena in fabulous, sunny Seattle, will go on sale through Ticketmaster at 3pm Pacific Time. That’s 11pm if you’re in the UK.

According to this press release that I’m looking at right now with my eyes, “Four-day ticket prices are $99 for General Admission, $199 for Floor seating, and $499 for VIP level.” Except you’ll probably have to give Ticketmaster a “little extra” for processing too.

This year, The International will run from 18-21 July. Last year’s prize pool was a quite astonishing $2.8 million USD, thanks in part to DOTA 2 players pitching in for the Interactive Compendium. Valve says details of this year’s Compendium will be revealed soon.

If none of these words mean anything to you, then this documentary may help a little bit.
