A new patch for Dota 2 has been released, and – despite its 175MB size – it doesn’t actually seem to do much barring fix a few issues.

There are only two things in there of which I’ve taken note, really. The first is that players who haven’t picked a hero five minutes after the start horn will be considered to have abandoned by AFK. The second is that ranked matchmaking will no longer allow parties that have a massive MMR spread.

Other than that, it’s mostly a slew of fixes – a “Steam authorisation failed” error when reconnecting should be fixed, the servers should notify people properly when players abandon by AFK, a number of server crashes and exploits are fixed, and the thresholds for players being put into the low-priority pool after receiving lots of reports have been altered. You can read the full notes over here, if you really want to.

That said, the size would tend to indicate there’s a bit more in there, which we’ll likely find out when someone hacks the patch apart. I’d guess that it’ll mostly be a few new item sets – possibly linked to upcoming tournaments – but I guess we’ll find out before long.
