Valve has revealed Left 4 Dead 2’s Scavenge gameplay mode.Scavenge sees survivors trying to fill a generator from gas cans scattered around the map, while the Infected stop them by any means necessary. The survivors are time-limited, but every can used to fill the generator (and yes, the filling action takes time) grants them a little extra on their clock. At the end of the round, the teams swap; whoever brought back the most cans wins. It’s made to be fast-paced, apparently, in much the same vein as the recently-released Crash Course DLC for the original Left 4 Dead. We’re looking forward to seeing it for ourselves. For now, feel free to check out the reasons why you might want to pre-order Left 4 Dead 2 with everyone else rather than waiting for the shop release. And hey, Australians? It sounds like you might be able to play it, too!
