Borderlands 2 players will likely be getting stuck into the new DLC today, Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt, but there’s some more good news from Gearbox’ James Lopez with regards to future updates.

Speaking to OPM, Lopez has confirmed that there will be a level cap increase at some point in the near future:

“We do have one planned, and it will be for quite a few levels which will allow you play for quite a bit longer. We also have a plan for Q1?.

Q1 means that there could be a significant DLC update before the end of March, and when asked about the timing of the cap increase, he went on to say:

We wanted to give people enough time to get at least one level 50 in there, and then see from there, how many people are doing this. Is this a good time for this? We also didn’t want to wait so long that people were no longer interested, or felt like it wasn’t coming”.

No doubt we’ll hear more in the coming weeks ahead so stay tuned. Our Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt  will be going live in a few hours.
