Max Payne 3 slow-dives to top of UK charts

The return of Max Payne has been well-received by the UK public, who’ve sent Max Payne 3 to the top of the all-format charts this week. That’s just above the equally anticipated Diablo 3, which found itself resting in second place.
However, that bare statistic doesn’t quite tell the whole story. Diablo 3 was only released for the PC, while Max Payne 3 was drawing on sales from two platforms (with the PC version yet to come out) in the Xbox 360 and PS3. It’s also unclear whether digital sales were taken into account for Diablo 3. If not, the dungeon crawler may well be in a false position.
In the individual formats chart, Diablo 3 outsold both console versions of Max Payne 3.
Back in the all-format charts Fifa Street held on to third spot, with Sniper Elite V2 and the ever-popular Fifa 12 following up in fourth and fifth place respectively.
