Mech combat title Reign of Thunder announced

Former MechAssault developers Day 1 Studios have announced Reign of Thunder, which will be an “all new Mech IP” with “fast paced, explosive action”. The announcement trailer (below) shows this off pretty well, with mechs appearing to blast away at one another while circle-strafing.
The game will be free-to-play (joining Hawken and MechWarrior Online in the forthcoming freebie-online-mech-games stakes) and will provide revenue for the developers through an online store for weapon upgrades. That probably goes hand-in-hand with “all the customization options you could ever want”.
Reign of Thunder will be a PC release.
