Microsoft To Unveil iPad Rivals

Microsoft is planning to announce a number of devices from third-party manufacturers that will rival the Apple iPad next month.
Boss Steve Ballmer is expected to unveil the new tablets at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, including one from Samsung and Dell.
The Samsung device, which is reported to run Windows 7, is described as “similar in size and shape to the Apple iPad, although it is not as thin. It also includes a unique and slick keyboard that slides out from below for easy typing.”
According to the report, Microsoft says the new devices will ‘move beyond play’, saying they believe there is a market for business people who want to read newspapers and then work on Excel.
The report even suggests Ballmer might show a tablet running Microsoft’s next operating system, Windows 8.
