Mountainwheel Games is on the hunt for some crowdfunding to bring their free to play online multiplayer third person action title Stone Rage to life.

The CryEngine 3 powered title looks an interesting prospect with its prehistoric setting. In the game players will traverse prehistoric landscapes as a single character and play as either human, neanderthal, or even one of the prehistoric animals. The game features three modes, survival, team objective or a classic deathmatch, and characters will progress in the world through achievements, weapon customisation, and numerous upgrades.

The classes are really split into two groups, the human/neanderthal and the animal classes. The humanoids and neanderthal each have a set of six different classes while the animals will play quite differently. The animals each have their own unique skills, Entelodont for stealth, the Woolly Rhinocerous for defense, the Gastornis as a scout class, a Cave Bear for warrior class, Saber Tooth Tiger for the hunter class, and finally the Mammoth as the heavy.

Mountainwheel are looking to raise 60,000 Euros to get the game funded with numerous stretch goals being teased should they make it.

Take a look at the video below, perhaps a prehistoric setting for a game is what you’ve been looking for, it certainly looks particularly gorgeous.
