NCSoft Shutting Down Exteel

NCSoft has made the executive decision to shut down all servers for their online mech-based action title Exteel. The game servers will be closed down for good in all regions on 1 September. Exteel was free to play based on a micro-transaction model which enabled gamers to get their hands on better equipment if they purchased items.
With little promotion for the game, even during the game’s launch back in 2007, Exteel is just another NCSoft title to bite the dust in a free to play market that is becoming increasingly crowded
In an update on the Exteel site NCSoft added:
“We know that we have many loyal players who love Exteel. Although this decision was a painful one, in the end it was a business decision that had to be made. We encourage everyone to play and have fun with the game that you love in the time you have left.”
